Materia obtained through Ignite’s Free Company (FC) airship voyages are on sale at a 50% discount off the current market board (mb) price to its members who qualify. There are some requirements that you must meet before taking advantage of this materia discount though, so let's get started.

In order to qualify for the sale of discounted materia, Ignite requires that you are rank Fire or above. Before receiving a rank promotion from Spark to Fire, you must

1. be with the FC a minimum of two weeks,
2. have at least one job at level 60,
3. post a short message introducing yourself to the rest of the FC in this Welcome thread,
4. and link your Lodestone profile to your Guildwork account (this guide directs you through that process).

Once you've completed all the above requirements and have received your rank Fire promotion, you're ready to buy airship materia. There are a couple of points that everyone must follow to give each of us an equal opportunity to take advantage of the discounted materia pricing.

• Grades III and IV materia - limited to 10 per day (the day resets at 12am pacific),
• Grade V materia - limited to 1 every four weeks (as of 4/12/16),
• and all airship materia melded in the selling officer's presence (the FC buys back any materia that isn't melded).

Airships are able to retrieve grades III, IV, and V materia. Along with RNG, there are also airship stats that can improve our chances for obtaining some items from a voyage, but it doesn't guarantee us what quality or amount of the items we do receive. We also use a guide that lists several possible loot items in each zone that then helps us plot a course to acquire some items that we are in search of, hopefully.

Presently, we send three of our four airships out on voyages and the airships are capable of surveying two sectors per voyage, so that restricts us to six sectors we can extract items from. As officers, we forecast what materia will be the highest cost and then the highest demand to give our members a nice 50% discount. Currently, the highest cost materia are crafting and gathering types, while the highest demand materia are critical hit rate and determination. So these are the materia we have sent the airships for, and some of what you’ll see up for sale with the discount (when the supply is available, all based upon airship rng).
